iutech and Global Entrepreneurship Week: A fantastic opportunity for digitalization and fintech

Event

From November 18 to 24, Tirana experienced the Global Entrepreneurship Week, an excellent event dedicated to entrepreneurship, innovation and technology, organized by the Start-Up Albania organization, with the support of the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate. During this week, iute Albania once again brought back the “iutech” discussion platform, to share its fintech experience with the public and to bring added value to this event. iute Albania representatives were present at 8 key moments of this event, once again underlining the importance of technological developments and proudly representing the excellence of Estonian technology that stands behind our brand.

The CEO of iute, Mr. Akan Ajdini , gave the opening speech of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and was also present at the most important panel organized by the World Bank entitled “Financial Innovation for Entrepreneurship Growth”, where he spoke about the digitalization of structures, the integration of data platforms with public databases but also about digital payments. And speaking of digital payments: in this panel, the fantastic news was given that Albania is now part of SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area).

Also, the CEO of iutePay, Mrs. Fatbardha Rino, was engaged in 2 different panels: one was dedicated to digital transformation and e-commerce, organized by UN Women, focusing on the development of women entrepreneurs and new approaches to technology; the other was a special panel attended by all fintech companies in Albania, an event organized by the “Balkan Fintech Association”, where there was a lot of talk about fintech cooperation on a regional scale.

The special guest of iutech was the expert Mr. Martin Ruubel. Together with the CTO of iute, Jonida Çela, and two representatives of Amazon Web Services, Ruubel was part of two discussion panels dedicated to technological developments, where they talked about the cybersecurity that lies behind some of the most important industries, including fintech. Martin shared with the Albanian public all his extraordinary experience, talking about some of the best practices from the digital society in Estonia or from other developed countries.

This fantastic week that we left behind was the best way to remind the Albanian public about the positioning of iute in the market as a fintech, underlining the importance of technological developments and innovations in digitalization.
